Although some zoos have minimal information presented about the animals, zoo-goers still are not educated about the animals lives before they are placed in captivity. Hundreds families go to zoos for a fun and learning environment encounter with animals. Visitors of zoos and aquariums value these establishments as educational and entertaining (Ganzert par. 9). How education can these institutions be when they rarely have signs about the animals? Are zoos truly showing how they live while keeping animals captive and providing the least amount of information about said animals? According to“10 Facts about Zoos”, “A CAPS study of UK aquariums found that 41% of the animals on display had no signs identifying their species – the most basic of information” (“10 Facts about Zoos”” par. 29). The essence of “10 Facts about Zoos” is that zoos do not try to display what the animals are or explain their lives before captivity. Another argument explained by Joni Praded, writer for E Magazine, is hundreds of zoos were getting in trouble for stating themselves as educational, while their exhibits did the minimal to try to educate the zoo-goers about the animals natural habitats (Praded par. 7). Despite the fact that zoos do not care of the animals and attendants are not educated about the animals, zoos also have killed animals because they tried to escape their prisons.
